When it comes to sewer issues, providing customers with accurate and detailed information is of the utmost importance. This is why Peak Sewer & Underground Services uses camera systems to provide customers with hidden information related to their sewer. By using a video inspection camera, we can quickly and accurately diagnose the issues inside a sewer pipe!
Sewer cameras allow our team to discover what the issue is, where the issue is, and determine what tools we will need to use to fix the problem.
Knowing all the facts allows our expert technicians to provide an affordable solution as well as educate our customers so they can make an informed decision on how to proceed with repairs.
What is a Sewer Camera Inspection?
Sewer camera inspections involve a specially built waterproof video camera snake that gets pushed through a pipeline to complete a visual inspection of sewer lines as well as hard-to-reach pipes.
Imagine the difficulty in trying to inspect a pipe encased in concrete, behind a wall, or beneath your home’s foundation. With a sewer camera, this can all be done without ripping, tearing, or destroying any property to access the pipe.
A flexible rod equipped with the camera is inserted into the pipe and allows the camera to travel through the pipe while sending a video signal back to a monitor. Our technicians can then inspect the entire length of the pipeline and make a digital recording for future reference. Our camera snakes are equipped with bright lights that illuminate the inside of the pipe so we can see any cracks, clogs, or structural issues.
Lastly, each sewer camera is equipped with a radio transmitter that records the underground depth and physical location of any defects or obstructions in the pipe. This allows us to only we identify issues, but find out exactly where they are!
Problems We Solve
Our sewer camera inspections allow our technicians to see any problems with the pipe and determine the location of the issue so that we can carry out timely repairs. These issues could include root intrusion, cracks, punctures, corrosion, broken pipes, sagging pipes, drain blockages, or misaligned pipe sections. The camera can also identify grease buildups, leaks, and obstructions.
After a repair is complete, we use the sewer camera to perform a follow-up inspection to ensure that the pipeline has been properly cleaned or repaired.
When Do You Need a Sewer Camera Inspection?
A sewer camera inspection is definitely recommended if you are experiencing repeated sewer or drain line backups, slow drains, or clogs. It’s also a great service to add to your home inspection checklist before buying a house!
There is a major cost-benefit of having a professional sewer camera inspection done. It can determine what condition the pipes are in, as well as any potential, expensive issues down the road.
